Happy Monday you guys! It’s cancer season, the beginning of summer, and (hopefully) the start of some great weather. We love this time of year for plenty of reasons. Summer is OUR season, when we really shine! Bikinis, sundresses, and beachy tees are so our vibe. You know summer has truly started when your winter foundation doesn’t match anymore! We just experienced this, so we wanted to share some of our must-have makeup items for the summer.
Full coverage foundation and summer weather definitely do not go together, so we like to switch to something lighter. Our recent faves are either the iconic London skin tint mixed with sunscreen (Bask is the best brand) or the Supergoop tinted sunscreen! I like to use supergoop as a base, use a dewy concealer where needed, and set with a lightweight powder! Our favorite powder is Mac but you really don’t want to overdo it to achieve a light and natural look.
We discovered a new favorite lippie this year from Tarte Cosmetics and between all the employees we probably own over 10 different colors! The Maracuja lip is so moisturizing and glossy, we’re obsessed. The shade “coconut” is so good if you have a tan going. It stays in the purse all summer long.
We discovered another new miracle product this year: dry shampoo for your lashes!! We heard about this product and we were like, what?!? It’s from Mac and you can layer it on top of already dried mascara to soften and touch up. Summer is busy, and if you want to freshen up between work and the lefties game this is going to be your saving grace!
Speaking of dry shampoo, we have a recommendation for that as well. We all pretty much exclusively buy Amika! Let’s be honest, summer sweat is a real problem but you don’t want to mess up your hair wash routine. It’s SO good, no white cast, and a little goes a long way!
Lastly, an honorable mention for our fragrance of the summer, Baja Zen Poolboy! It smells like vacation, suntan lotion, a beverage that only tastes right when sipped from a coconut. We LOVE it.
