Okay, new pet peeve alert. The “Things I find ‘un-chic’” trend is officially pissing us off. If you haven’t seen it, it’s basically influencers listing off things and trends that they deem unfashionable, just because they don’t like them. Even when they’re like, “I studied fashion at this institute and interned with this magazine”, we just really don’t love the idea of telling people things they might like are “un-chic”. Because like, who’s qualified to tell you what not to wear?? Fashion is SUCH a personal thing, and the whole point is that there are NO RULES! Maybe something that’s un-chic to you is my new favorite accessory! We don’t appreciate being told what to do or wear. We already hear too many people come in and say they love something but they’re too old, or too scared, or “wish they could pull it off” and it’s sooooo sad. We say if you like it, wear it! Wear whatever the f*ck you want!!!!
Anyhoo, rant over, that brings us to our main point- being a little weird. Our girl Sam posted something the other day that inspired us. She said every time she gets ready, she needs to do one thing to make it weirder. Her example was pair two colors that she wouldn’t normally, or add lots of accessories. That really stuck with us because we LOVE that. There’s nothing wrong with dressing easy, staying in your comfort zone, and neutrals if that’s what you want to do! We’re never gonna call you “un-chic” for it. But fashion is art, and nobody should ever be afraid to push some boundaries. Weird girl aesthetic is the new best aesthetic!
Tie your scarf kind of weird. Mix patterns if you like them both. Dress with whimsy! We hope you’re with us on this one because we’ve been shopping for Moxie with our weird girl hearts. We have lace basketball shorts, bright coral sequin pants, a FULLY sheer lace skirt, giant pink sunglasses, and probably even more coming. Gonna repeat this for impact: wear whatever the f*ck you want!! We’re here for inspo and guidance, not here to fashion police you. We’re actually the opposite. Fashion criminals? Fashion anarchists? Not sure if I like that either, but you get it.
